You’ll Lurve This Ladybird Party

I’ve discovered yet another enviably creative mama!

Suzi Waters is the director and head designer at Alannah Rose – one of Australia’s leading invitation and stationery companies. She’s also the mother of two gorgeous gals one of whom, Ella, recently turned four. To celebrate Suzi threw her daughter an amazing ladybird party. “I didn’t want to do a heavy red and black theme, so we decided to turn it into a ladybird garden party, going for a natural look and incorporating lots of pretty garden colours,” she says on her blog.

I’m enthralled by all the little details of this inspiring bash as I think the smallest things can really make a party (note how Suzi even put ladybirds on the leaves of the flower arrangements).

For me the fake grass (turf) ‘table cloth’ is a real highlight. Such a great way to bring the garden indoors, don’t you think?

The handmade gingerbread flowers and potted marshmallows also rate high on my cute list.

Love the pretty pastel pom poms that adorned the roof to extend the garden feel. Suzi made ladybird antennae (for the girls) and ant feelers (for the boys), which the kids could take home with them.

The pièce de résistance was no doubt the beautiful ladybird cake, which was made by Suzi’s mum – creative genius must run in the family then!
