I spent last Wednesday morning trickling down Kalk Bay main road browsing its many quirky, retro, vintage, DIVINE shops – bliss!
I stepped into Mythology and Co. and couldn’t help snapping these kooky, colourful and completely cute characters crafted by Dolly Dinkle.
How cool?
Making quirky creations is something Jodi Meiring of Dolly Dinkle does with great dedication and flair. She tells me that she makes everything by hand and “never stops working!”
What’s good to know is that her penchant for whimsical design doesn’t end with these creations. Jodi also creates out-of-the-ordinary children’s parties. “I do a totally different party to the run-of-the-mill. Polka dots and roses with a liberal sprinkling of vintage nostalgia always gets my heart beating, so I appeal to like minds.”
Aah, I do love a kindred spirit!
Want to see more of Jodi’s clever inventions? Hop along to Mythology and Co. in Kalk Bay or Constantia Village, or catch her at the Old Biscuit Mill (Cape Town) on Saturdays. You can find out more about her old fashioned fairy parties on her website Dolly Dinkle.
