V&A WATERFRONT

THE CRATE MAN

Located at the Bascule Bridge, kids will love the 12-metre high Crate Man made from used Coke crates, while sending a strong recycling and environmental message. The Crate Man will be at the V&A Waterfront until 11 July 2010.

THE CRAFT ZONE

The Craft Zone will operate from 12 noon until 14h00 daily until 11 July 2010 at the Blue Shed Craft Market. Activities are suited to age groups four to twelve and include arts and crafts workshops, face painting, fun with balloon animals and story-telling.

THE ACTION ZONE

The Action Zone is suited to ages six to sixteen and is open daily from 11h00 – 16h00 until 11 July 2010 in the Blue Shed Craft Market (Expo Area). Kids will be able to learn ball skills, participate in dance workshops, enjoy soccer quiz games and a movie hour. Live entertainment shows are scheduled to take place every Saturday and Sunday at 14h00 in the Action Zone.

THE GAME ZONE

The Game Zone will be situated next to Cinema Nouveau in the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre and will be open from 11h00 – 16h00 daily until 11 July 2010 for kids aged six to sixteen. The Game Zone will offer laser target practice, X-Box and Nintendo Games, a daily “how fast are your fingers” challenge, and prizes for the best scores daily. The overall Game Finale will be hosted on Saturday 11 July 2010 at 12 noon.

THE CITY OF CAPE TOWN 2010 INTEGRATED HOLIDAY PROGRAMME

The 2010 Integrated Holiday Programme is being rolled out across the metropole, with the assistance of various NGO’s and SAPS, in support of the 2010 Legacy Programme. This Holiday Programme offers a roster of special activities – from sports to arts and entertainment – for school going children over the five-week-long June/ July school holiday which runs from 10 June – 12 July 2010.

THE CITY OF CAPE TOWN LIBRARY PROGRAMMEScape-town-tourism

Each City of Cape Town Library has put together an individual schedule of children’s activities for the school holidays. Activities range from storytelling, viewing of soccer games and film shows to board games, puppet shows, drawing, painting, paper craft, macramé and more. Residents are advised to phone their nearest library for more information.
