Okay so here’s a little scoop on nutrition I didn’t know about: raisins in all their shrivelled shrunkeness are actually good for your teeth. Pah! Who coulda guessed?

A fast fact to chew over

Apparently certain phyto-chemicals in raisins help prevent the growth of cavity-causing bacteria that cause gum disease amongst other things – yeuch!

Could raisins be the natural alternative to anti-plaque rinses? Some studies suggest so.

Upshot: get your kids to chomp a handful or two a day. I sure am gonna try!
