A Pastel-Pretty Party (for girls)

Little girls’ parties don’t get prettier (or more picture perfect) than this one I discovered via Little.Lovely (a daily inspiration).

Sarah K Chen is a (smoking hot) Korean photographer based in Orange County, California. She threw this exquisite birthday bash for her one-year-old daughter Ellie. ‘In Korean culture this first birthday is quite an extravaganza, which we call a Dohl and calls for much planning,’ she explains on her blog.

Sarah joined forces with event coordination company Grand Soirees and together they created a birthday celebration little girls (and their mums!) dream of…

The pale pastel palette set the party’s whimsical tone.

How clever is this cake (left)? And I love the spread of white lollipops (right).

Lush peonies in corals and cream were arranged in glass, sea green and white vases – sigh, so pretty!

Refreshing rasberry lemonade – I love the glass vessel and the grey and white straws (all pointing the same way, nogal!)

Handmade felt flower clips were given to girls to wear in their hair and guys to wear as a boutonniere – cool huh?

‘E’ for Ellie was pinned to some of the vases (left). Party hats were custom made with a pink ‘E’ on them for girls and a blue ’1′ for boys (right).

I love this birthday bunting.

Birthday bunnies! These fluffy rabbits joined in the festivities – they were there for the kids to play with and pet.

Ellie, the party princess (what a lucky girl!)
