Boutique in the ‘Burbs

A while back I blogged about cardboard boxes and how much kids lurve to play around on, in and under them.

I mentioned My Little House – a company that makes completely fab cardboard houses for kids.

The bad news on that story? The company is based in Hungary (although, they do ship to our shores).

The good news on this post? Yesterday I discovered gorgeously similar cardboard play houses right here in sunny SA.

Where?

Kiid’s Boutique in Chelsea Village, Wynberg (Cape Town).

I’ll admit to being pretty blown away when I walked through the door. Top quality international brands such as Petit Bateau, Bam Bam, Snooze Baby and Lodger line the shelves and adorn the floor and walls.

I felt as though I’d stepped into a store in New York, London or Amsterdam. It was kind of thrilling.

The low down

If you’re looking for exquisitely made, superior quality kids clothes and décor Kiid’s Boutique gets a huge thumbs up. Gorgeous cotton and knitwear, super soft textures and fresh fabrics entice you to touch, while creative play things such as Kidsonroof cardboard mobile homes (my fav), totem figurines and Lazy Jack beanbags beg to be played with.

But wait, there’s more

The newly-renovated building in which Kiids Boutique is situated oozes charm. In keeping with the shop’s European twist it shares this space with old Cape favourite Alison’s Flowers (which has been around since the 1950s) and the restaurant Dutch – a foodie haven.

My kinda baby bag!

Shopping here is a relaxing, inviting, inspiring experience where you can peruse, savour and indulge to your hearts content.

Sigh, it was difficult to leave.

Check out the Kiids Boutique website or visit them at 51 Waterloo Road, Wynberg, 7800, Cape Town – they’re unpacking a whole lot of gob-smackingly gorgeous new stock right now!

    Dear Venessa

I have just read your blog and would like to thank you for coming into Kiids Boutique and for enjoying and appreciating the store. I loved your blog and the way you write. I am just sorry that I missed you so if you are in the area again sometime it would be great to meet.

I love dogs (I have 4) and kids (3.5, about to have 4th) so I think I am going to love your site.

I would like to know your address as I’d like to send you something.

    Many thanks
